Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case

The Belgian detective is back in this thrilling case in London. The young Hercule Poirot, accompanied by Hastings, his assistant, is tasked with securing a painting for an exhibition. But they will soon find themselves embroiled in a series of mysteries... and a murder. The gameplay remains true to the first game, and you can turn on extra clues if you don't have such great powers of deduction!

In this, the direct sequel to "The First Cases", you'll be reprising your role as a young Hercule Poirot, still a lowly inspector with the Belgian National Police. This time, the Belgian government has tasked him with providing security for a priceless work of art while it is shipped to London. But nothing goes according to plan, and the painting's mysterious disappearance is very soon followed by a murder.

We liked the plot, which remains faithful to the spirit of the original novel. Masterfully written, the game serves up an immersive experience that remains true to Agatha Christie. The developers have enhanced the plot by adding in more complex twists and turns and inserting plenty of easter eggs here and there, providing players with subtle hints about Poirot's future cases.

Just like in the first game, the gameplay in The London Case combines exploration, questioning suspects, and solving puzzles. This is definite point and click territory, and you'll need to put your grey matter to good use if you're to discern the truth from the lies in conversations with different characters, while using mind maps to track the results of the investigation.

These will help you organise your theories and join the dots between them. Each suspect is placed at the centre of the map, and you then place any items or observations you've made during your investigation around them. Some of these items can be linked, resulting in new theories for Poirot. If you use these maps effectively and pay close attention to items marked with a magnifying glass, you and Poirot will be able to solve the case. It's loads of fun from age 11-12!

Go over the victim's cabin with a fine-toothed comb to find vital clues that will help you understand what happened, and then head to the bridge and speak to Hastings first.
