This is a game with a simply amazing development process. You’ll find no 3D graphics and animations here... just handcrafted models, cardboard planes, and a 10m long worktop.
No mega-lasers criss-crossing the screen, or crazy power-ups.
The explosions? Firecrackers filmed in real life. The aircraft engines?
Deftly placed pyrotechnics. And what’s more, the soundscape is also “handcrafted”. It’s a masterpiece with an adorable cardboard cut-out aesthetic, in a lovingly created bric-a-brac world.
As for the gameplay, it does exactly what it says on the tin.
In an olden day setting, pilots strive to join the elite by climbing up the leaderboard.
A classic shoot ‘em up in the vein of your favourite retro arcade games, but with a totally new aesthetic that makes it a game not to be missed.
