Here’s the sequel to Tesla VS Lovecraft. This time, the electric Nikola Tesla can count on Marie Curie’s help to defeat Cthulhu (the cosmic deity imagined by Lovecraft). This top-down rogue-lite promises almost unlimited quick and intense games where you beat down the monster, alone or in co-op. A great way to blow off some steam with some strange surprises in store!

Fans of rogue-lite games will love Tesla Force, a little gem from 10tons. This game picks up the things that made the earlier titles (like Tesla vs. Lovecraft, also available here at Blacknut) such a success, and improves them with innovative mechanics and enhanced content.

Tesla Force stands out for its twin-stick shooter gameplay that promises frenetically intense sessions. You'll play as iconic figures like Nikola Tesla, Marie Curie, H.P. Lovecraft, and Mary Shelley, each with their own skills and combat styles. The levels are procedurally generated, meaning that every game is unique! The objectives, while varied, often consist of destroying statues, closing portals, or surviving waves of enemies. The missions throw you straight into the action, with quick, intense battles. And every failure lets you come back stronger thanks to the upgrades you can unlock with crystals.

We liked the dream team of characters and the unique skills each of them brings, and which add strategic depth to the gameplay. Nikola Tesla can use electrical attacks, while Marie Curie excels in using dual-function weaponry.

Our favourite part? Co-op mode (with up to four players in local multiplayer). It makes the game even more fun. The synergy between the different characters' skills can turn battles into strategically choreographed destruction.

Then there's the Lovecraftian atmosphere. The developers have brilliantly incorporated Lovecraftian mythology, creating a dark and mysterious atmosphere. You'll be facing cosmic creatures and ancient monsters in gothic settings that will remind you of the work of the world's first master of horror: H.P. Lovecraft.

Our tip to help you on your way*: to maximise your chance of survival, you need to keep an eye on time spent in the arena. The longer you stay, the more monsters swarm in to reinforce their peers.

Prioritise secondary objectives like collecting parts of a mecha or quickly closing portals. Use abilities like teleportation to dodge enemies and target strategic locations where you can take them out more effectively. By optimising your movement and intelligently managing your time, you'll boost your chance of success.

The short and intense games and local multiplayer guarantee engrossing sessions that pack a hefty dose of adrenaline.
