STUFFED is a procedurally generated, horde first-person shooter, that takes place in the dreams of a little girl. Play as a teddy bear and fight waves of nightmares as you defend your owner.
Ellie is asleep. But in her dreams, nightmares are prowling. Fortunately, her teddy bear is watching. Developed and published by Waving Bear Studio, STUFFED casts you as little Ellie's plush guardian: an armed teddy bear whose sole mission is to defend her bedroom door against the horrific creatures haunting her dreams.
Do not be fooled by the concept: STUFFED is a fully featured procedural roguelite FPS, playable solo or in co-op up to 4 players. Every run generates unique levels, varied enemies and weapons to unlock, all wrapped in irresistible art direction where earnest teddy bears face cartoon monsters.
We loved: The utterly original concept. Guardian teddy bears defending a child's bedroom against nightmares: the idea is simultaneously funny, touching and offbeat. The game exploits it with consistency all the way through.
We liked: The 4-player co-op mode. STUFFED in co-op is simultaneously strategic and hilarious. Coordinating four armed teddies against waves of dream monsters is exactly as absurd and delightful as it sounds.
Our highlight: The art direction. The game's aesthetic is perfectly handled: spooky enough to create atmosphere, cute enough to remain accessible to all. A rare balance.
Our tip to help you: In co-op, quickly designate each player's defensive angles. Enemy waves arrive from multiple directions and an uncoordinated defence leaves fatal gaps. Communication is the first weapon of the perfect defender teddy.
Who is this game for?
STUFFED is aimed at players aged 10 and over, both solo and in groups. It is an ideal game for multiplayer family or friend evenings, fans of quirky-atmosphere FPS and fans of accessible roguelites. The universal concept of the protective teddy bear speaks to all generations.
