In 1615, Japan was experiencing a troubled period. After centuries of clan wars, Shogun Tokugawa is trying to bring peace once and for all. But dissent is in the air, and conspirators plot to topple the new order. It is against this backdrop of instability that you head off to war. The enemy? The rebel hordes of Kage-Sama, who clearly seem to have both a plan and a big secret to protect. Hidden in the shadows, you’ll have to play smart. But fortunately, you’re not alone! Here, your strength is your wits and team-work.

Your team is made up of five extremely complementary warriors: Hayato the stealthy Ninja, Mugen the powerful Samurai who throws bottles of saké (amongst other things), Takuma the alchemist, Aiko the Geisha, and Yuki, who lays traps. With each of them turn-by-turn, you can draw the attention of your enemies, clean up crime scenes, and escape the watchful eyes of the guards, as well as improving your conversational Japanese. A single-player real-time strategy game developed by the German studio, Mimimi Productions, Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun puts you in the shoes of a real warrior general, and gives you carte-blanche. To achieve your objectives, you’ll need to formulate your own battle plan, one that takes the terrain and your resources into account.
