Dive into a thrilling survival adventure where an unknown liquid takes control of your life. Extract Serum to stay alive, battle dangerous creatures, solve puzzles, and uncover clues about past events.
A brutal awakening in a contaminated world. A mysterious liquid flows in your veins, demanding its fix. If you do not find serum within the next few minutes, it is over. Welcome to the oppressive world of Serum: Toxic Survival, a survival FPS developed by Game Island that turns your own biology into your first enemy.
The concept is as anxiety-inducing as it is original: you are infected by an unknown liquid that acts like a lethal drug. To survive, you must constantly collect serum by exploring a post-catastrophe environment populated by hostile creatures. At the same time, you gather clues about the events that led to this disaster, gradually piecing together the puzzle of a world that has fallen apart. The serum's time pressure gives every exploration a visceral urgency.
We loved: The serum dependency mechanic as a driver of permanent tension. Unlike classic survival games where resource management is strategic and measured, Serum imposes a constant urgency that never lets you breathe. Finding the next dose becomes an obsession that shapes every decision and every movement.
We liked: The dark and claustrophobic atmosphere of the environments. The zones explored in Serum are visually oppressive: abandoned factories, infested corridors, devastated laboratories. The uncertainty about what lurks behind each door maintains constant tension that turns exploration into a test of nerves.
Our highlight: The narrative progression through environmental clues. Serum does not tell its story directly: you reconstruct it yourself by observing the environment, reading scattered notes and analysing the bodies of those who came before you. This environmental storytelling gives unexpected depth to a survival FPS.
Our tip to help you: Always memorise the location of serum collection points in each area before venturing further. Do not waste ammunition on avoidable creatures: every confrontation consumes time and energy, two resources just as precious as serum itself. And systematically explore hidden areas: the most important serum caches are often tucked away in hard-to-reach spots.
Who is this game for? Serum is aimed at players aged 18 and over who enjoy intense FPS games, pressure-driven survival games and claustrophobic post-apocalyptic atmospheres. Available on PC/Desktop only.
