There's one unique video game genre that has been delighting millions of gamers around the world ever since the '90s, and that genre is point and click. You play these adventure and puzzle games with a mouse or just a few buttons on the controller, and you're never under any real pressure. They do demand a bit of brainpower and patience, but they immerse you in unique game worlds, just like a novel but with the added bonus that you control the action! Some of them have become classics in their own right, like the Deponia series and the zany Monkey Island. German studio Daedalic Entertainment (very recently acquired by France's NACON), has specialised in this unique genre of games, and here at Blacknut we are proud to have a whole selection of them for you to play.
Deponia
A benchmark series with millions of fans. Travel to the planet of Deponia, a planet inhabited by the working classes who are forced to endure living in an open-air rubbish dump while the upper classes live up in the sky, jettisoning their trash down onto the surface. You're in for a series of four games packed with pitch black humour, and a wonderfully obnoxious hero.

Ken Follett's The Pillars Of The Earth
A different way to experience Ken Follet's medieval cathedral saga. In the game, you'll find the exact same world as in the book: stories of plotting and betrayal, beautiful environments, and a gentle pace that's faithful to the story. The game alternates between narrative sequences travelling the world map, timed sequences, and investigating clues. Pure magic!

Silence
A breathtaking land with superb environments. The strength of Silence lies in the bonds that bind a brother and sister. Every screen is wonder to behold, exploding with colour and packed with an impressive level of detail. With its super-streamlined gameplay that verges on the narrative game genre, this is one that you can enjoy with the kids.

Edna & Harvey: The Breakout - Anniversary Edition
More than a cult Point and Click game deftly updated to modern standards, it’s a real experience of its own. You play as Edna as she tries to escape from a mental asylum with the help of Harvey, her stuffed rabbit. The atmosphere is wall-to-wall quirky and crazy, and comes with a healthy dose of cynicism and bags of black humour. It sets the standard for dark, ironic games.

Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today
Be warned! This is an amazing Point and Click adventure set in a dark, unforgiving, and violent post-apocalyptic world. You’ll play as a man who has lost his memory in a world reminiscent of Mad Max. You’ll get engrossed in the original and tightly written plot, even if some sequences very nearly stray into pure horror. One for the grown-ups.
