Operation Wolf Returns: First Mission

The reboot of a '90s arcade classic. This reinterpretation immerses you in an outlandish adventure where it's all about the action: shoot anything that moves and free the hostages! The many fresh additions give the franchise a new lease of life. And don't forget about Survival mode, where you'll need to repel endless waves of enemies from your HQ.

One of the great 1980s classics is back and true to the essence of the original while bringing some nice "made in 2023" improvements. It's straightforward, brutish, and easy to pick up and play without any hassle, and just like a 1980s action hero, you'll be shooting anything that moves. We loved it!

We liked the game's colourful, eye-catching artistic direction with its cartoon style. We loved the environments filled with brash and genuinely funny characters. It all adds to the sense that you're not here to take things too seriously.

Armed to the teeth, your mission is a simple but dangerous one: freeing hostages, taking out the henchmen that guard them, and putting a stop to the very, very bad guys' destructive plans!

And all while playing as a special agent tasked with countering the sinister plants of the fearsome General Viper and his criminal organisation. You have four different guns to choose from – revolver, rifle, machinegun, and shotgun – and you can also throw grenades at your enemies.

However, under no circumstances should you shoot the poor hostages! Thankfully, you can also take cover behind parts of the environment to avoid incoming fire.

Your character moves on rails, so you only need to aim. Kids will love it. Each mission comes with its own different challenges across urban environments, hostile jungles, and fortified military facilities.

Our advice to help you on your way? Do not skip calibrating the sensitivity of the controls, and adjust the difficulty level to suit different players. But be warned: even in easy mode, your energy bar is soon depleted!

We loved this great way to blow off some steam that will be a hit with fans of fast-paced action.
