You’re shipwrecked on a lost mythical island. As backpacker Alex, you must befriend the forgotten gods of Greek mythology and restore their memories. Explore the dynamic island and its story sandbox to build new friendships, solve the mystery and save the gods.
Imagine being shipwrecked on a paradise island... and discovering that your involuntary neighbours are Zeus, Aphrodite, Hermes and the other gods of Olympus, all amnesiac and completely out of their depth. That is the deliciously absurd situation awaiting Alex and you in Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, a charming and humorous narrative adventure developed by Polygon Treehouse and published by Whitethorn Games.
Your mission: explore the island, forge bonds with each of the gods, help them recover their lost memories through objects, conversations and quests, and unravel the mystery of what caused their collective amnesia. All set in a light, colourful and deeply wholesome atmosphere that makes Mythwrecked a rare and precious feel-good gaming bubble.
We loved: The writing of the gods, absolutely hilarious. Watching Poseidon panicking because he has forgotten how to swim, Aphrodite completely lost without her memories of seduction or Hermes bewildered without his knowledge of roads... Polygon Treehouse reinvents every mythological figure with warm and inventive humour that regularly triggers genuine laughter.
We liked: The relationship-building system. Every god is a fully-fledged character with their own narrative arc, preferences, fears and little quirks. Getting to know them, finding the objects that trigger their memories and watching their personality evolve throughout the game is deeply rewarding. You genuinely grow attached to each of them.
Our highlight: The exploration of the island, generous and full of surprises. Ambrosia Island is a map rich in secret nooks, places charged with mythological significance and unexpected encounters. Exploration never feels like a chore, every newly discovered area brings its share of discoveries and delightful moments.
Our tip to help you: Talk to every god regularly, even when you have no object to bring them. Dialogues evolve based on your overall progress and some important revelations only appear after reaching a certain relationship level. Systematically explore every corner of the island before focusing on a specific god, the key objects that unlock memories are often hidden in unexpected places.
