LOUD: My Road to Fame

A cool rhythm game about a teenager who wants to become a rock star, and starts out playing air guitar on a broom. It combines the energy of a rhythm game like Guitar Hero with a story about following your childhood dreams. It's easy to pick up and play and the original rock tracks are a real hit.

In the rhythm game genre, LOUD: My Road to Fame stands out as an intimate portrayal of the life of an up-and-coming new artist. But this indie game offers far more than just tapping buttons in time with the beat: it immerses you in its main character's personal and musical life. It all begins in their room as a teenager who's into rock music but doesn't yet have a guitar. Your job is to guide them on their path from playing air guitar on a broom all the way through to bursting onto the music scene.

Our favourite part? The plot that really made us want to improve to help our heroine grow up. Through six chapters of an emotional journey, each segment of the story is accompanied by three unique tracks, all composed by the talented developers at Hyperstrange.

We liked the gameplay in LOUD: My Road To Fame, which is based on traditional rhythm game mechanics; you need to press buttons at the right time, keeping to the beat of the music. Where the game innovates, though, is by introducing a novel button layout that adds an extra layer of complexity and focus.

As the notes cascade onto the screen in the form of stars, you'll need to press the right buttons in time to the music. The game offers three difficulty levels – Chill, Skilled, and Grind – so that gamers of all ages can play.

What's more, LOUD: My Road To Fame also features additional gameplay mechanics, like button combinations and special sequences that add a bit of depth and variety. You'll need to stay focused if you’re to master each song and put on an outstanding performance.

The original tracks are all pure pop-rock, composed by the talented band, Hyperstrange, and they perfectly capture the spirit of each step of the artist's career. From enchanting guitar riffs to powerful basslines, and including catchy drumbeats, each instrument plays a role in creating an immersive, captivating atmosphere.

On top of all that, the game also boasts wonderfully colourful artistic direction. There are six different skins for your heroine, as well as different guitars to collect.

A great experience for fans of rhythm games of all ages.
