Be warned! This is an amazing Point and Click adventure set in a dark, unforgiving, and violent post-apocalyptic world. You’ll play as a man who has lost his memory in a world reminiscent of Mad Max. You’ll get engrossed in the original and tightly written plot, even if some sequences very nearly stray into pure horror. One for the grown-ups.
Calling all fans of dystopian futures, quantum physics, and tyrannical oppression! Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today leads you into an uncertain future, where a mysterious event known as “the Great Wave” has destroyed everything in its path: cities, society, and what little integrity remained in the hearts of men, leaving only a giant gash in the sky. It is in this post-apocalyptic world that you wake up, suffering total amnesia, as Michael.
Put up in a filthy refugee camp by some charitable soul, you soon understand that death is everywhere, and the world as it was no longer exists. And as if that wasn’t enough, humanity is afflicted by a strange illness that puts people into a prophetic trance before dissolving them where they stand. Your job is to find out what’s really going on before you, too, succumb to spatial and temporal problems!
Originally a Kickstarter campaign, Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today is a 2D Point & Click adventure game developed by Fictiorama Studio, and the first instalment in a long and frantic saga. Although it is influenced by writers like Philip K. Dick, the single-player game manages to create its own incredibly immersive world.
For adults only due to its violent and seedy images and its morbid storyline, Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today takes you on an adventure through dozens of hand-drawn settings, each in its own way depicting a dark and sordid future that can at times verge on the troubling. Featuring very simple gameplay (right click to inspect, left click to interact or move), it contains a multitude of challenges like side-quests, dilemmas, and puzzles.
While most of the game is accessible to newcomers to the genre, others will require you to backtrack a few scenes to find the right solution. While you’re at it, you’ll learn a bit more about recent events and your troubled past, and maybe a bit about your future!
