This cute 3D platformer is set inside a computer. You play as a little bot as it hunts down viruses inside a PC. With its colourful levels, magnetic puzzles, and dash of humour, it's the perfect game for kids. You can even play in co-op mode for double the fun! A real treat.

The tale of Boti: Byteland Overclocked goes back several years to when the development team at Purple Ray Studio got together to make a game in homage to the classics of the Nintendo 64. Inspired by iconic games like Super Mario 64 and Banjo-Kazooie, they set out to make a 3D platformer that captured the spirit of those games while updating them for the modern era. And they pulled it off.

This is a game that kids and anyone who's feeling nostalgic for the golden days of 3D platformers will love. You play as Boti, a data bot with a personality as big as his heart. His mission? To work with his floating companions, One & Zero, to clean computer systems of bugs and stubborn viruses! With his witty rejoinders and sharp mind, Boti is the perfect companion on a fun adventure, for ages 10+.

We loved the split-screen co-op mode. It lets two players follow the adventure together in an experience where coordination and communication are the keys to success. Whether you're playing with a friend or a member of your family, it adds a whole new dimension to the game and lets you share the joys and tribulations of Boti's adventure.

We liked the retro gameplay mechanics, updated for the modern day. Boti: Byteland Overclocked serves up an old school gaming experience with classic mechanics like the double-jump, sprint, and slide. The levels are as familiar as they are unique. From sunny beaches to dark and sinister factories, and taking in futuristic and technological environments, each world provides a unique range of challenges and discoveries. You'll find all of the classic platform game obstacles like moving platforms and vanishing floors, but with an extra touch of creativity that makes each level that much more fun to explore.

But it's not just a trip down memory lane! The game provides a modern touch with puzzles based on magnetism and "Music Slide" sequences that will have you tapping your feet as you put your brains to the test. It's great!

Our favourite part? the Music Slide sections where you find yourself hurtling down a slope with musical notes dotted along the way. As you slide down, you'll need to jump and slide sideways to collect as many notes as you can while avoiding obstacles. Each note you collect helps make up a tune, and your aim is to collect all of the notes to make the full piece of music. By jumping and moving sideways at the right moment, you can collect as many notes as possible and compose the perfect tune.

Our tip to help you on your way? Practise these sequences a few times to memorise the rhythm and locations of the notes: it will help you get it right.
