BIOMUTANT describes itself as a post-apocalyptic Kung-Fu fable, an adventure that's as colourful as it is dark, recounting the inevitable end of the world and the death of the tree of life, against the backdrop of a prophet announcing the coming of a legendary warrior. And this legendary warrior is who you'll be playing as, with the fate of the world in your hands. It's a beautiful game, and a poignant one, set in a living world. So, will you be able to defeat the four Worldeaters and unify the tribes?

We loved how the game lets you customise every aspect of your character, from their appearance to their skills and special abilities. Fans of customisation are in for a treat here, with a comprehensive character creator. There are six races, five classes that determine your passive abilities, options to customise your fur, genetic mutations, and even some degree of resistance to particular kinds of contamination.

But make sure you don't mess it up, because once you've created your character you're stuck with it.

Your agility and your ability to dodge, parry, and counter attacks are vital to winning the day.

We liked the BIOMUTANT game world that's a fascinating blend of post-apocalyptic landscapes, weird creatures, luxurious forests, and arid deserts. Each of the game's seven regions is packed with amazing details, and the world itself is constantly changing. You'll feel an irresistible desire to explore every corner of the world, revealing its mysteries and meeting the people who live there.

One of the remarkable things about BIOMUTANT is its morality system. Your choices will influence not only the plot, but also the environment around you. You can decide to save or destroy different tribes, to clean up or pollute the environment, and much more besides. Your actions have a real impact on the game world and how the story turns out. The combat system based on martial arts gives you outstanding freedom, combining melee and range attacks with mutant powers as you take on some tough enemies.

Our favourite part? The narrator that accompanies you on your adventure. Not only does he express your character's thoughts and emotions, but he also comments on events and the decisions you make, which often helps lighten the mood. We loved it, but if the narrator gets on your nerves you can go into the options and have him speak less.

As you explore the open world of BIOMUTANT, you'll also be able to ride fantastical vehicles, drive jet skis, and saddle up on flying mounts.

A little tip to help you on your way: one good thing about regular vehicles is that they can be modified using tools and special resources. At first, your car might only be able to travel across one landscape, but as you develop better and better models, it will gain plenty of extra abilities.

The same is true for your pets, which can help you not only to travel around the map, but also make your character stronger in battle.
