Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan

The story of Prince Enzo, heir to the throne of Zama, isn’t your everyday tale.

Firstly, because Enzo Kori-Odan is the very first Cameroonian video game hero in history! Then also because this story that takes the form of a rite of passage touches on some heavy, even sensitive themes, through the lens of peace, love, and an open mind. It’s a story so full of wisdom, but that doesn’t mean there’s no action.

Quite the contrary! You play as Enzo and his wife, Queen Erine Evou, who were destined to rule over Zama until Erine’s brother, Ngarba Evou, pulled off a coup. The two lovers were then hunted from their kingdom and forced into exile in an unknown and hostile world.

But together they are stronger, and Enzo will certainly have need of Erine’s talents to find the four "soul pillars" and explore his "Aurion". This supernatural force inherited from his ancestors might just enable him to exceed the limitations of the human body and reclaim his throne while he’s at it!

13 years in the making after the initial idea, Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan is a 2D action-RPG developed by the independent Cameroonian studio Kiro’o Games.

It’s even the world’s first game from a Central African studio! The developers were inspired by the legends and folklore of certain African countries to create rich and deep "African-fantasy" world.

Similar to a J-RPG, Aurion: Legacy of the Kori-Odan features graphical and storytelling components borrowed from Japanese manga and shonen. Enzo and Erine’s powers, for example, are similar to those of the heroes in Dragon Ball Z!

What’s more, Enzo is a kind of supersoldier endowed with abilities that share a direct link with his qualities as a person: his four soul pillars.

Between real-time combat, rewarding conversations, and exploration sequences using the joystick, you, too, will have to learn to master a variety of techniques.

To do so, you’ll need to keep a constant eye on your "Aurion points" bar (by pulling the joystick down) and unleash your best attacks to fill it back up! When it’s full, you’ll be able to dole out deadly combos and defeat even the most powerful enemies!

And on top of all that, the game features a longer playtime, meaning that you get to spend dozens of hours in fantasy Africa! A real taste of the exotic!
