Abalone
So much better than draughts.
The video game adaptation of the famous board game! In it, you’ll find the same hexagonal board with its 28 white and black marbles. The aim of the game is simple: be the first to get six of your opponent’s marbles off the board by outmanoeuvring them with your own. A timeless classic that's harder than it looks!

What?! You've never heard of Abalone??!! That's a shame, because this so very French game is great fun for players of all ages, with much tougher variations for seasoned players.
The rules are easy, and here you can even play in single-player against the AI (something you can't do with the board game version!). One player plays with the white marbles, the other the black ones. The first player to use their own marbles to push six of the other player's off the board wins the game. Then the online gaming serves up a wide variety of matches with different levels of difficulty:
The most common setup? The horizontal setup, known as the classic way to play. But in this video game adaptation, even the most expert players can train using scenarios taken from international competitions: the Belgian, German, Dutch, and Swiss daisies, the alien, domination, infiltration, the wall, Fujiyama, snakes, 6/9, alliances, mosaics, and intimidation.
Created by two French authors, Michel Lalet and Laurent Lévi, in 1988 – and initially known as "Sumito" – Abalone has been one of the games used in the Mind Sports Olympiad since 1997.
