A virus has broken out on a remote mining asteroid in the depths of space, turning the miners into twisted monsters. Your job is to make it out alive. If you enjoyed Half-Life and DOOM, you'll love HYPERVIOLENT. It's a horror-FPS with '90s inspired graphics that's a great way to blow off some steam.
A strange pandemic has ravaged a mine on Asteroid 27-C, turning all of the workers into bloodthirsty beasts... So much for a quiet life, but you'll have to learn to survive in this apocalyptic setting.
HYPERVIOLENT is a retro FPS in true '90s style, which means it's all about that violence. It's kicking off everywhere with bodies exploding and daubing the scenery in crimson. You can even upgrade your weapons as the game progresses, becoming ever more powerful.
In the brutal, chaotic world of HYPERVIOLENT, survival is your absolute priority. Be prudent and think before you move, because a lethal threat might be waiting around every corner. And try not to waste your resources: you'll need them as the challenge keeps ramping up.
We liked the pixel art graphics that are perfect for a horror-FPS set in an extremely dark world with real '90s graphics. It means that the violence works without ever being too realistic.
Our favourite part? The huge variety of weapons, some of which are designed to be used with just one hand.
Our advice? Always keep your torch handy, because it's your only ally against the terrifying darkness of Asteroid 27-C.
The game also comes with a multiplayer mode that promises intense pitched battles.
Set on a labyrinthine space station filled with switches, terminals, key cards, and monsters, with nothing to envy the golden age of System Shock, Half-Life, and Doom, HYPERVIOLENT is a trip down memory lane for fans of retro shooters, with an atmosphere that takes you back in time.
Fans of horror and FPS will love its dark, seedy sci-fi setting. So, get ready to explore a nightmarish space station and do battle with merciless enemies in a game that pays homage to those that inspired it.
