Black & White Bushido

Imagine a monotone world. Here, you can play as the dark or the light, and the screen changes contrast while you play. The light team can melt into the background, and the dark team the opposite. Use this to sneak up on your enemy or just to stay hidden. A great concept, especially in party game mode.
Black & White Bushido is a fighting game in the Super Smash Bros mould, where 2-4 players do battle in a 2D arena. Here, though, the fighters will be manipulating light and shade to hide or spring an ambush.
We loved the pared back Japanese backgrounds against which two samurai clans – the Light and the Shadow – do battle.
As the title implies, everything in the game is in black and white, apart from a few items and the blood of your opponents.
In each match, the Light team and the Shadow team can hide in the light and shade respectively. You can melt into the environment and disappear, lying in wait to spring a deadly ambush. And because the colours shift, so does the team with the upper hand.
Sneaking up on an opponent only for your position to be revealed a few seconds before striking is both devastating and hilarious.
The battles are heated, because the slightest hit is fatal.
You can attack on the ground or in the air, in straight lines or diagonally.
The match doesn't end once you've killed the other players, but rather once you've won a given amount of points.
We liked the gameplay that rewards preparation and execution rather than just bashing buttons.
The game comes with three modes: Single Player, Team Deathmatch, and Capture the Flag.
Our tip to help you on your way? It is possible to guess where your opponents are hiding. When they jump they kick up a bit of dust, and when they strike with their weapons, you'll see a flash. Keep your eyes peeled in order to stay alive!
A great game for a quick blast with pals, and sometimes the worst players will come out on top! Life's not fair when everything's black and white!
